Scouting has been an important part of the Land Park community since William Land had the Boy Scouts dedicate the park to the city of Sacramento.  BSA Troop 136, The Zoo Troop, was formed in 1987. It has grown from the original group of eight Land Park boys to an active boy-run troop of over sixty scouts, whose members come from many parts of the city.

The troop meets at the Sacramento Zoo on the 1st and 3rd Mondays from 7:30 -9:00 p.m.  Committee meetings are the 1st Monday during the troop meeting.

A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent
